Start with the failing connection
There are separate paths: app to controller, app to Helper, and app to camera. A working Helper page does not establish that the app can reach the controller or a camera.

On home Wi-Fi
  • Check the correct controller is selected. Confirm its LAN address and interface settings, and that another device on the same LAN can reach it.
  • Keep Helper connected to that controller. Allow the app's Local Network access in iOS Settings. Guest Wi-Fi, client isolation and separate VLANs can prevent discovery.
  • Run Sync Now after changing panel names or configuration; a reconnect refreshes status but does not always download the full inventory.
  • If the controller rejects encryption keys or a user code, stop retrying and check the values locally. Never post them here.
Away from home
Use the Tailscale remote-access guide. Bonjour does not cross a normal VPN. Connect locally once so supported apps learn Helper's addresses; use an approved subnet route for the controller's LAN address. Check that the always-on gateway is awake.

A camera fails while the controller works
Check the camera protocol, address, credentials and network path separately. An RTSP/MJPEG camera may be on another VLAN or require its own routed access. HomeKit camera access follows Apple's Home setup and permissions. Share a redacted error message, not the full private stream URL.

A useful support report
State whether Wi-Fi or cellular fails, the app/Helper versions, controller family and model, and the exact error. If using Tailscale, say whether Helper's web control works and whether the subnet route is approved. This identifies which connection needs attention.
