A few suggestions:

- Add an optional internet browser button

- Allow for shortcuts within the browser view (say, on the bottom?) to specific pages, ie. one could point it to whatever other automation systems or utility web interfaces a user has or even their email account. This would facilitate a lot more customization.

- Add a notification system -- PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE -- this would just be awesome. If there was a port my:ro would listen on that one could send a simple & short TCP message or broadcast that would display on the panel instantly (w/ a sound and undim optionally) -- that would be awesome. For example, one could have caller ID displayed when a call comes in, updates appear when a service goes down, notifications for email coming in on a computer etc... possibilities for this being useful are unlimited. Perhaps even it could integrated into the regular messages box, but just make it so all you can do with it is dismiss it (not send, etc, as that wont work obviously). This would be a killer feature for something so centric in the home and easy to implement. There should also be an option in the TCP message to have the message self destruct (delete, cease to display) after a certain time period (for use when the message isn't useful anymore after a certain amount of time).

- An option to control iTunes would be awesome (esp on a Mac ;)

What do you think?

This is possible on the panels we offer as we have hard buttons. I will look into supporting this in the standalone software version.

It would be nice to have a dedicated button on the UI for the browser though, called "Net" maybe or something and have it be embedded within the UI with native looking configurable shortcut buttons.
