Report a Bug / Re: iOS 16.3 has broken Myro:Home
« on: March 01, 2023, 08:06:26 pm »
My problem is resolved. No fault of Myro:Home. I have a Cradlepoint Fallback device that gives me full Internet capability using cellular if / when my primary ISP fails. In order for Myro:Home to work with the Cradlepoint Fallback it needed a PortDigger to provide a fixed IP address. The PortDigger people had a problem that they have now resolved. Everything working fine now.

Report a Bug / iOS 16.3 has broken Myro:Home

It looks like iOS 16.3 has broken Myro:Home. No change to the Myro:Home app. The only change was updating the iPhone operating system to 16.3.1. Myro:Home now reports that it cannot connect to the controller.

OK, I see what happened. I'll answer my own question in case someone else has this issue. I looked at my wife's iPhone and it looked just like I remembered it. I can see now there are some arrows next to "Areas" and Zones".  When these arrows are tapped showing the data, the app looks how I like it to look. I'll try to remember this in the future.

It appears that the app has changed. In the past when I would log into the iPhone app, at the very top it would tell me my alarm status. I could tap on that to Arm or Disarm my system. Now, I seem to have to "dig" to be able to arm or disarm my system.

To arm or disarm my system I must now, Tap Security, then tap the Lock, (that is right next to the emergency button!).  Then select my choice of what I wish to do.  The old way was easier, I'm wondering if I've accidentally configured something to make this app harder to use?

General Discussion / Myro can be difficult to find on the Apple App Store
« on: December 11, 2021, 04:06:20 pm »
Myro can be difficult to find on the Apple App Store. I've sent a couple people to look at it, and they insist it does not exist.

When I search "Myro" it's not there.

When I search "My:ro" it's not there.

If search "SnapLink" it's immediately found!

When searching on the Apple App Store you must search "Myro:Home" (or SnapLink)

Thank you for the reply.  I'll give Home Helper a try.  I don't use Siri,or HomeKit  but I do want to get Notifications.

I see the price is $99, is that a one time only charge?

(I've never seen so much Verification done on a user forum before)

I want Push Notifications when my alarm changes state. Should I use Home Helper to accomplish this?

I would be happy if I got a Push Notification when my alarm is "alarming" aka "In Alarm".  A Push Notification when the alarm is being armed or disarmed would be OK too.  My HAI system will call my iPhone when the system is armed or disarmed, but shockingly, it does NOT call if the alarm is alarming!

So, I'm trying to figure out if Home Helper my answer.  A DuckDuckGo search on the Internet appears to show that Home Helper also does many other things, it creates all kinds of logs so you can look at the history of events etc. I have zero interest in this. Can that feature be disabled?

Thanks
